That nation, which was regarded as a symbol of human civilization, stood for "freedom, equality, and fraternity" at that time, the French colonial empire became the first destination of our Father of the Nation in his journey to save the country. He understood that “know oneself is true progress”; therefore, he made great efforts to study, analyze, and ponder about every available information regarding the world and capitalism, steadily came to understand the proper leadership strategies and tactics so that one day when the knowledge had been carefully cultivated, He would return, bringing the hope of independence to his homeland

At the end of 1917, after residing and working in the US, the UK, and several African nations, Nguyễn Tất Thành returned to Paris. Around this time, He was also far more actively involved in many political activities. He became a member of the French Socialist Party in early 1919, he fought alongside with the French working class and frequently took part in the Faubourg club's events - where discussions regarding both major and minor problems are held. At the 18th national Congress of the French Socialist Party in 1920, He became the co-founder of the French Communist Party and the first communist of the Vietnamese people.

Despite His zealous activities in France, President Hồ Chí Minh was not blind to the  French colonialists’ brutal treatment of the Vietnamese people. This was the first step in Van Ba's strong denunciation of colonialism and French invasion in Vietnam. Through the press and public forums, He made every effort to inform the people of France and the rest of the world about the unspeakable atrocities that colonial powers committed in their colonies. Nguyễn Ái Quốc's unwavering and tenacious fighting spirit contributed to the global fall of colonialism.
